Continental Team 0711|CYCLING is happy to announce the signing of 24-year old Italian Nicola Toffali. Despite his young age, Nicola has already gained experience in professional cycling and will pass this on to his new teammates. In 2016 he raced for Professional Continental Team Roth that folded at the end of the season.
Nicola sees himself as a rouleur who is in his element in hard races e.g. in the Netherlands and Belgium. He proved this last year at the Tour of Turkey when the peloton was torn apart into echelons in the wind: Nicola was one of only two riders to keep up with WorldTour team Lotto Soudal in the first echelon, and they distanced the rest of the field by two minutes and more. Nicola is also a decent sprinter, but mostly had to race in service of teammates before – now at 0711|CYCLING he gets the opportunity to race for victory himself.
General Manager Julian Rammler says: “Nicola will be a real boost for our team. He has always raced for very good teams and we have full confidence in him. Nicola can teach our young team the small things that often make the difference between a great and a poor result, and he will also be our man for the sprints.”
Nicola Toffali himself adds: “I’m looking forward to forming a bond and racing with my teammates. I want to be successful for 0711|CYCLING and prove my talent – preferably by winning races!”
Nicola Toffali’s first race for 0711|CYCLING is the GP Industria & Artigianato (UCI 1.1) in Larciano, Tuscany, on Sunday, 5 March.
